Orkney Itinerary Highlights
Step back over 5,000 years and dive headfirst into Orkney’s wild heart on this unforgettable private adventure across the West Mainland. From the haunting stillness of the Standing Stones of Stenness and the mighty Ring of Brodgar, to the astonishingly preserved village of Skara Brae perched above the Atlantic, this tour is packed with jaw-dropping history and epic coastal scenery. Travel along dramatic shorelines to Birsay, enjoy a picnic lunch bursting with local flavours overlooking the sea, then cross the tidal causeway to the Brough of Birsay, where Pictish and Viking stories come alive among seabirds, seals and, in season, puffins. With expert guiding, fresh sea air and moments that genuinely stop you in your tracks, this is Orkney at its most powerful, ancient and exhilarating.

- Standing Stones of Stenness – Guided tour around this 3100 BC henge monument site.
- Ring of Brodgar – Henge site. Visit this large circle of Neolithic Stones dating back to 3000 BC. Originally there were 60 stones, 27 remain today. Great place to spot Curlews, Oyster Catchers and Sky Larks.
- Skara Brae – 3100 BC. See great presentations, the Neolithic House mock-up and guided walk to and around the Neolithic Village. Amazing views of the Atlantic.
- Skaill House – 500-year-old manor house and home to the founder of Skara Brae- William Watt
- Birsay – Taking the scenic route to the most North Westerly part of Mainland to view the stunning tidal island The Brough of Birsay, Earls Palace and JP Orkney Headquarters
- Lunch – Picnic style lunch prepared by JP Orkney and showcasing lots of local fayre with views of the Atlantic
- Brough of Birsay – Short drive to the Brough of Birsay. Walk over the causeway at low tide to access this island. Visit a Pictish and Viking settlement from the 7th-13th Centuries. Fantastic views over the Birsay coastline and a chance to see stunning wildlife including puffins.

Our luxury Mercedes Evito tour vehicle seats eight passengers. It is fully electric, so not only is it comfortable, it is quiet and environmentally friendly. It is fully licensed, has lots of luggage space and phone charging facilities.
We love sharing lots of useful and entertaining information about the sites, and as all our tours are private you will have your guide and our tour vehicle all to yourself.
Tours can be as active or relaxed as you like – we will work with you to create your perfect experience. We cater for everyone – families, couples, single travellers, small groups and corporate clients.
We make our own range of Orkney produce, so there are always lots of complimentary treats on board. Complimentary drinking water is always readily available.

Prices
As all our tours are tailor made, prices are on request. All prices are for the vehicle and guide, and include pick-ups and drop-offs for up to eight passengers. Lunches and entrance fees are extra.
